This is one of my go-to sandwich breads as it has a more rich and earthy flavor and less sweet than a traditional white loaf would ever have. If you have them on hand, drop in a tbsp or two of caraway seeds for a more authentic rye bread.

Setup your bread machine and add all ingredients into the bread pan starting with liquids, then fats, then dry ingredients. Be sure to dig a little hole into the middle of your flour mound and pour the yeast into it as it helps activate the yeast during the initial rest.
Bake the bread using the regular wheat bread method. Alternatively, if you're using instant yeast, you can use the quick method if your machine has that feature.
Once finished, remove the loaf from the bread pan and allow to cool for at least ~20 minutes before slicing.
